On Newsweek’s “A Religious Case for Gay Marriage”

OK so here’s the crux of the debate, some believe the Bible is God’s word and law while others see it as just another book. There’s no point in quoting Scripture if your audience doesn’t believe it has authority. Or is there?  It certainly won’t win the debate unless it first wins their souls.

1 Corinthians 1:18 (King James Version)
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

So we see that the Word is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 15:1-3 (King James Version)
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And by the Hearing of the Gospel we are saved.

So, where do you stand?
